All students wishing to enrol at Heatherwood School must meet the eligibility criteria for Mild Intellectual Disability. This is a Full Scale Intelligence Quotient (FSIQ) between 50 - 70. A Cognitive Assessment issued within the past two years from date of enrolment is required for all students. A Vineland assessment issued within 12 months of the date of enrolment is also required. This will need to be supplied on completion of a tour and once you have confirmed your intention to seek enrolment.

Heatherwood students are defined as having a ‘Mild Intellectual Disibility’.

Transition and enrolment timelines for 2027 enrolment

• Wednesday 22nd April 2026—Year 7 2027 placement applications open
• Friday 8th May 2026—Year 7 2027 placement applications due
• Monday 1st June—Unsuccessful placement outcomes communicated to your child's current school
• Monday 15th June—Enrolment acceptance outcomes communicated to your child's current school
• Tuesday 16th June to Friday 26th June - Enrolment packs available for collection from Heatherwood School
• Friday 17th July - Enrolment paperwork due by close of business to Heatherwood School
