School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS)

Vision Statement

To provide a safe and engaging learning environment for each student at our school. SWPBS is a systems approach to creating the kind of school where all students are successful and included. This is achieved through teaching and reinforcing positive behaviours that align with our three core school values.

  • Be Respectful
  • Be Your Best
  • Be Safe

The purpose of SWPBS is to identify the effective, efficient and evidence based supports we can put in place to ensure all students experience success. The evidence-based features of SWPBS include:

  • Prevention
  • Defining and teaching positive social experiences
  • Acknowledging positive behaviour
  • Arranging consistent responses to all behaviour
  • Maintaining ongoing collection and use of data for decision making
  • Establishing a continuum of interventions
  • Celebrating individual and whole school achievement
